In order to urge the enterprises put the product quality responsibility into practice, and enhance the supervision of product quality control, safeguard the interests of consumers and ｃｒｅａｔｅ a harmonious consumptive environment, Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Guangdong Province recently launched a special inspection of woolen knitwear and down garment produced and sold in Guangdong.

This inspection reviewed 237 batches of woolen knitwear and down garment products of 183 enterprises from Guangdong province, finally, 160 batches products of the total were qualified, and the qualification ratio was 67.5 percent, which can be reached 70.5 percent if the items that failed for marks were excluded. The details information was listed as below:

This spot check was conducted according to the national mandatory standards GB 18401 "National General Safety Technical Code for Textile Products", GB 5296.4-1998 "Instructions for Use of Products of consumer Interest--Instructions for Use of Textiles and Apparel" , as well as some enterprise standard which has registered and been valid for use. The key items inspected on woolen knitwear products are care instruction, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo dye, color fastness to water, color fastness to perspiration, color fastness to rubbing, color fastness to washing, color fastness to light. The main unqualified items were fiber content (23 batches), care instruction (12 batches), color fastness (3 batches). In addition, the key items inspected on down garment are duck feather(down) content, filling weight, filling power, oxygen number, turbidity test, odor and microbe test, besides the other 10 items mentioned as above.

The main unqualified items were down content (30 batches), filling weight (15 batches), fiber content (10 batches), microbe test (6 batches) and color fastness (5 batches).
