Challenge:
After the first national standard for mattress industry GB/T 26706-2011 "Upholstered Furniture –Palm Fiber Elastic Mattress" was published and ｅｘｅｃuted last year, another light industrial standard QB/T 1952.2-2011 "Upholstered Furniture – Spring Mattress" was approved by the Administration of Industry and Information Technology of P.R.C. on December, 2011 and will enter into effect on April.1, 2012.

This standard specifies the definition, product classification, performance requirements, test methods, inspection guideline and use instruction, labeling, package, storage and delivery of spring mattress. This standard is applicable to spring mattress products, only as a reference to other soft mattress made of polymeric materials.

The modification to QB/T 1952.2-2004 mainly includes:
1.  Addition on the requirement and test method of evaluation for anti-mites activity
2.  Modification on the requirement and test method of released formaldehyde
3.  Expatiation on flammability requirements：GB 17927.1-2011 intended for domestic spring mattress, GB 17927.2-2011 intended for spring mattress used in public.
4.  Modification on the requirement and test method for durability
