A new version of China FZ/T 81008-2011 Jackets was officially issued on Dec. 20, 2011 and replaced FZ/T 81008-2004. It will go into effect on July 1, 2012.

The new version featured the following changes from the previous version FZ/T 81008-2004:

• Applicable Scope: it was changed to jackets mainly made of woven fabrics, and it states explicitly that it is not applicable to garments for infants or children.
• Label: It was changed to comply with both GB 5296.4 and GB 18401.
• Physical and Chemical Properties: Colorfastness to water and to perspiration for lining, staining requirement of colorfastness to washing for embroidery, Azo testing and odor testing are added. Requirements for colorfastness properties of shell, seam slippage, formaldehyde and pH value have been adjusted.
• Appearance Checking: Sourcing requirements for raw materials, appearance defects and measurement tolerance have been partially revised.
